I use DownThemAll for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/201/
It's saved my butt a couple of times when a certain MP3 site's
download util has not downloaded all my files for some reason.
I also used it recently to download Vista betas with impressive download speeds.
I do wish MS would endorse (or even not threat to sue) sites hosting
Torrents of their downloads - I guess they'll figure it out in the
end.

yup, I use star downloader (free) inside fox, for 3 reasons. Firstly, it
seems to resume better than firefox does if necessary, and secondly it
CAN speed up downloads by opening 4 "streams" at once instead of fox's 1
(if the site allows it). Lastly, I can schedule downloads with it, say a
weeky download of ipfilter.dat from bluetack, simply by calling it via
Powerpro (or any scheduler) with "star.exe <download.url>"
