Okay, I have an Ipaq 3630 running PPC2k2 with the dual PC Card sleeve which I use primarily for GPS with Mapopolis and as a backup cell phone using Running Voice GSM. My current GPS receivers are the Haicom 303MMF and the Holux GR- 271 which both work beautifully, however I realized a long while ago that I want to be able to have the gps receiver and the pda separated, so, I found a good deal locally on a Holux GPSlim 236 (usb and bluetooth) and a Dlink DCF- 650BT on Ebay.
I installed the latest BT stack from Dlink's site and I can see the GPSlim in the BT manager, I can pair with the Holux unit and it shows up as an SPP Slave as it should but whenever I try to connect, it fails saying Connection Failed - Waiting for device - Unable to estable a connection. Please make sure the device is enabled and in range. Also verify that the requested service is available. As such when I startup mapopolis, it cycles through all the possible comm ports before eventually giving up saying it can't find a gps receiver. Oddly though, both the GPS unit and the BT manager shows the pda and the gps as being paired, just can't do anything over that connection. Even odder, in bluetooth system settings under serial ports, both in and outbound show as greyed out and have zero's, even though it shows the serial port service as being enabled.
