Microsoft uses the term "evaluation" rather than "trial". There's a slight
difference IMHO... See below my sig for actual verbage.

There's a better plan for getting the latest released software. If your
business or company promotes the sale of Micosoft products, then you quality
to register as a Microsoft Partner. As a Partner, you can purchase the
Action Pack, which includes licenses and media for most of the latest
Microsoft products, with quarterly updates. You get single licenses for
server software, and usually 10 licenses for client software. You are
allowed to use the Action Pack software for your own business purposes - not
merely evaluation.

The Action Pack subscription must be renewed annually for you to continue
using any of its software. I don't know what the first-year cost is, but
the annual renewal as of this year is $300. I think that's cheaper than
annual renewal on Technet.

Technet FAQ

"Can I use evaluation software received in my TechNet subscription at home?"
"In most cases, yes: the license grants installation and use rights to one
user only, for evaluation purposes, on any of the user's devices. Each
individual product, however, can have its own license agreement, which will
control how many installations are allowed. Keep in mind that you may use
the evaluation software only to evaluate it. You may not use it in a live
operating environment, a staging environment, or with data that has not been
sufficiently backed up. You may not use the evaluation software for software
development or in an application development environment."

unless it changed, technet includes trial versions only.
