I have to agree with Diane. There have been just numerous
and never ending virus and exploit alerts that have been comming from
Microsoft for years. So many in fact that I just yawn at all of them
them except for a very few security alerts.

We all know how to keep, if not all people, our anti-virus engines
up to date, delete bogus phishing e-mails and such, secure browsers,
never devulge passwords, ssn's, bank account #'s ect.

I think that these endless virus and security alerts should just go to the
newbie lists becuase to me they are starting to become and sound like
junk mail.

That is what we are doing (and it is easier to do in domains).
Most folks on this list know how to do these things. It's the
masses that click on anything that comes their way that this
will affect. And most everybody here that is in computer
support knows there are a *LOT* of those. InfoCom didn't go
Yellow just for nothing.

This was just a heads up for those folks that support those
masses. Come to think of it, if they support those masses then
they should have already known about the alert, so I just
wasted everybody's bandwidth. Sorry about that. I see what you
mean Wayne, about virus/whatever alerts. They don't do much
good for this list. They are better suited for the newbie
lists. :D
