If you have a known good power supply from someone with same model and it
still fails, quite possibly the problem is not with the AC power connection
but the system board.

My friend's Dell laptop is having problems getting electric power. She
bought one of those fancy power supplies with lots of tips when hers died.
Now if you wiggle it just a little it does not maintain a connection and
goes on battery. We know she is using the right tip. The others dont fit.
Is there any way to make this one grip tighter or is that a silly question?
