Got this email from an associate at work, they are running an older Dell
Latitude C600 laptop, WXP Pro SP2 with Office 2003.
If I open WORD, then open the document, the fan doesn't go off -
If I do right click on Start, do explore and double click on the document
file name, the fan goes on and stays on until I go into task manager and
shut it down -
Any ideas why use of the one method triggers the fan? Perhaps this is due
to high CPU load while "browsing" in a network environment even if the
file is local?
Until Monday this is all I have to go on.
