Some SD cards have a little switch on the side.
My switches are generally white in a blue card
so they are easy to see...
(Sometimes on a flash drive they are VERY hard to see BTW...)
Any chance you missed something like that?
Leaving no stone unturned... ;-)
Are you using "any type" of security software on that card?
I had a bad card. It was small. Had a lifetime warranty.
It would have cost more to get a replacement free than a
newer, bigger one cost me... I threw it out. (They count on
that I think...)
NOW, I try to NEVER let Windows write to those cards.
I read them into my XP-Pro box, and let the camera do
all work "on the cards"... I have never toasted another card...
Having said that, I should mention I have never hooked ANY
camera TO my computer. I have always used Sandisk Card Readers.
If "their camera software" would have prevented "this problem",
well --- shame on me, <grin>
From the Paranoia dept:
If I "do" let Windows put a generic file on those type cards,
(using it like a flash drive for example, even though I hate to do that),
I seem to always have to wipe the card aggressively with an
eraser program so it will NOT generate errors in the camera
later. (Example: "thumbnail not available" on a brand new picture
in the camera...)
Given enough time, you may learn that Windows, your camera,
and your cards do not play well together...

Whenever I try to delete an mp3, OR format the card from within xp, I
get an error "this disk is write protected". Googling, this seems to be
a common error message, and the only answer I could see was "throw it
away", anyone any better "fixes"?
