Have you tried removing and reinstalling the drivers?

He has attempted to change the print quality selection in the "properties" selection but it does no good. I have attempted to lead him through some trouble shooting at the HP web site and he still is stuck in the slow mode. He is a professor and needs to be able to print faster to conduct class business. (By the way, I have a four year old HP5550 which has never given me a moment;s trouble). Does anyone have a suggestion that I might pass on that would get this printer up and running fast? What am I missing? Seems a digital system should either fail entirely or work!
