I've heard the huge outcry about this on the net through the blogsphere and becuase of that Microsoft was forced to revert its terms of licensing for Vista back to that of what XP has always been for many years.
I've read the article on Cnet News below that there's one small technicality which states this: Microsoft backtracks on Vista transfer limits <http://news.com.com/Microsoft+backtracks+on+Vista+transfer+limits/2100-1016_3-6131900.html?tag=html.alert> "The plan to limit transfers was part of a series of changes to the terms that apply to boxed copies of Vista, not to the license that comes on a new, Vista-equipped PC. Separate rules apply for the versions of Windows installed on new PCs, which is how the majority of buyers get their copy of Windows. Typically, copies of Windows purchased on a new PC cannot legally be transferred to another PC." So if you are going to purchase a copy of Vista get it boxed and not pre-loaded so that you won't get burned. ;) Marc Sims Data Technician I Prince George's Community College >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] Friday, November 03, 2006 >>> http://tinyurl.com/sp7mu "The Windows division has revised the retail license terms for Windows Vista in a significant way." It now reads "You may uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use."
