I bought my wife a Bose Quiet Comfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling HeadPhones
(at her request :) for our anniversary. It came with a (free) Lexar MP3 (only
MP3)flash Player. I had never used one of these audio devices before. I
dragged and dropped some CD cda files after I converted them to MP3 using Nero
conversion utility. The good news is that the audio is great; the bad news is
that to get from say track 3 to track 157, you have to manually toggle 1 track
at a time through each & every track, since the Lexar keeps tracks sequentially
with no albums. The wife says "I'd like a Player where albums (and tracks) are
hierarchical like in Windows Explorer so I can just drill down to the album or
track I want to hear" using the toggle.
I have spent hours looking on the Internet and there are a zillion different
Players. My interest is in a flash (preferably using SD card) Player where you
can toggle to an album and a track directly or some other way to get around
easily in the stored Library of music in the Player.
I would appreciate any advice/recommendations anyone might be able to give me
to cut through the clutter. My only restriction is that I do not want to go
with an iPod. I am willing to spend up to $200 for the Player.
