Firewire 800 interface is much faster than USB 2.0 which rates at 800 Mb/sec
compared to USB 2.0 which rates at 480 Mb/sec. So Firewire would be the best
choice.
But in a networked environment its still good to have a local HD backup solution
just in case if the network should ever go down. ;)

Yeah, but wouldn't one or both of the Firewire options be faster?
Hmmm....we're getting extremely fast network connections, so we don't
need to store everything locally, but we're getting colossal hard drives
so that we don't need to download so much stuff.......
