Hey there.. In answer to the query about whether or not PCAnywhere will
work under W4L, the answer (at least when I tried it), is no. BTW, I'm
using W4L v5.10e under RedHat 7. When I did try installing, it blew up my
W4L Windows install (what a pain in the *ss). I also had this issue when
trying to install virus protection software (e.g. NAV) -- the blowing up
that is.
Two questions: has anyone had any luck installing any of the virus
scanners (would be nice so that I could read/send email safely)? Secondly,
is there any solution to the problem of one of these applications blowing
up my W4L Windows install?
I even tried backing up the entire windows directory before installing
such an app, and then moving the original windows directory back after the
install wreaked its havoc. W4L doesn't seem to like this though, and I end
up having to re-install Windows. Needless to say, I'm very careful about
what I install now ;). Any tips on how to back out of such a situation?
Or, is there a list of apps that are known to work w/ and known to break
W4L?
*Finally*, (one more question) -- has anyone out there goten Microsoft
Streets and Trips 2001 to work? It says something about the file on the CD
being bad, though I know this is not the case since I can install w/ the
same CD's on other systems.
