once again, a really picky point for the folks at netraverse.
it would be a lot easier to see which commands should be run as a
normal user and which as root if you add a prompt before the
commands and explain the prompts up front in your documentation.

  as an instructor, i have the following standards:

        $ cmd           (to be run as normal person)
        # cmd           (to be run as root)

this would obviate the need to frequently state that some set
of commands must be run as root.
