Anton, this is why I couldn't fully answer your question.  I could
have sworn that in the past my Control panel icon for fonts was just
that, an icon for fonts.  I no longer have a native Windows system to
check but, like you, all I've got is a shortcut to the fonts file
directory and so there's not Install option available.  Very
perplexing.

The odd thing is that the Help file says you CAN do this, but it
doesn't seem to update the font registry when you do it.
