Hi

I think the problem is with the configuration of xhost. you can't run 'xhost +' from 
the console. only from X. try reading how to enable by default access to all the 
requests. I had a problem like that once, that Blender (a 3d application) wouldn't 
start because of this error. I solved it by adding 'xhost localhost' on my '.xinitrc' 
after 'exec <windowmanager>'. of course you can't solve it like this here. you'll have 
to find how to enable it by default.
