I'm having the same problem. I noticed another thread that recommended
checking the baud rate and the flow control. I set the flow control to
Hardware and the baud rate I adjusted from 9600 up to 56k. I'm still having
the same problem.
I also tried changing the Hot Sync transfer rate from "As fast as possible"
to the same value as the COM rate set above. No luck.
Have you worked out these issues on your machine?
