Been playing around with Win4Lin for a while now. Great product.

Now my question. I've got it installed on an IBM Thinkpad with
one IRDA port. I've got the modules configured correctly, and
loaded. I want to set it up to sync with my palm pilot, so I
don't have to carry a hotsync cradle with me.

Now, I know the port is working fine in linux. As a test, I
tried to beam from the palm while running irdadump and saw traffic.

As root, I've done winsetup, and pointed com2 to the correct irq
and I/O port. I've done the irattach /dev/ttyS1 and even changed
the permissions on /dev/ttyS1 to 777. When I fire up win4lin, I
get the following error:

IA_FAIL_W: dos: WARNING: 'com2' is not available.
Device '/var/win4lin/mrgdev/ppi/com2' is in use or has incorrect
permission.

Now, my questions are: Are the ir ports supported as serial ports?
And if so, does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks,

Jef
