Are you saying that you have a kernel compiled for i586? If so, I don't
know anything about that. I think the stock Mandrake kernel is compiled for
i686.
Otherwise, I am using Win4Lin with no problems on my MDK 7.2 system. I
downloaded a patched and compiled Mandrake 7.2 kernel rpm from a web
article somewhere (don't remember, but I got the link from someone else on
either this list or the Mandrake users list -- check the archives for
both), installed the kernel and Win4lin with no mishaps, and it's been
running perfectly ever since.
Assuming you need to patch and recompile your kernel for i586, it is not
too difficult. I've done it for other things, and it worked fine. Just read
the install documentation at Netraverse's website, and follow the instructions.
