Ok, so maybe I did something really weird here but the
following things happened to me on my installation of
Win4lin 2.0 on my Mandrake 7.2 system. Can someone
tell me if they are supposed to happen?

1. I got around to reinstalling my system with
Mandrake 7.2 I chose to alter the default disk
partitioning scheme by removing the /home parition and
making the /usr partition about 2.5 Gig. This was
apparently my first mistake. When I went to install
Win4lin, I got the kernel installed OK and did the
initial load of the windows CD.

BUT when I tried to install windows as a user, I kept
running out of space. I believe this was because the
/home directory is mounted off of / and the default
install of Mandrake only gives you like 500 Megs for
/. Is this correct?

2. The really weird thing was when I tried to install
windows. In all cases, the windows setup would start
and, on the first few screens, I wouldn't even get to
look at the options or dialog boxes. It would breeze
right by them. I mean, forget trying to choose a
custom or compact installation!!! It wouldn't let me
anywhere near those options.

Is this expected behavior??

I finally solved my space problem by removing my user,
removing the /home dir and then linking it over to
/usr (so I have /usr/home/<userid>) and I have plenty
of space. Lesson learned for next time!

But that breezing by the options bothers me. How can
it/is it supposed to, do that??

Rick
