RedHat has a 2.2.17 update out for 6.2 and I tried to generate a patched
version but without success. If I compile up the unpatched kernel,
everything works fine. However, if I apply the 2.2.17 generic patch and
enable Win4Lin in the .config, I get a kernel which doesn't boot.
Immdediately after the uncompressing kernel message the boot process
aborts and the computer reboots. I also tried the RedHat7.0 2.2.17
patch file but almost all the hunks failed with that patch file (also
tried the Mandrake 2.2.17 patch with similar results). The generic
2.2.17 patch file has some fuzz and offset warnings in the patch process
but all the hunks can be applied. Also no errors on compilation, just
an unusable kernel file. Any chance of getting a correct RedHat 6.2
2.2.17 patch file?
Scott
