It doesn't speak volumes to me. KDE is an Open Source project
run by volunteers. I don't pay for it, nor can I make any
demands as a customer. I can choose to help them if progress is
too slow for my taste, or I can choose to not use it. That's it.
Win4Lin is a commercial product. They make money off of it. I
_can_ expect some level of support if I feel I paid for it. One
can argue that we all purchased a product based on kernel 2.2 and
have no right to expect it to work on 2.4. That's true enough.
But unlike KDE, we aren't expected to help them along if progess
is too slow for our taste, and it will hurt their bottom line if
we choose to not use Win4Lin any longer.
As for my myself, I'm in no huge hurry to use 2.4, but I
understand users who do _need_ it. It is the Linux stable kernel
after all.
