To attempt to reply to both posts!
1) I`ve got away with only about 50Mb of cygwin system (and I begrudge
even that, and think I could prune it back now) - but I did need to
install the FULL fonts package before I could get XWin behaving
sensibly. I SHOULD be able to save another 20Mb there I reckon.
As to why I`m running Win9x and a X-server on this box (to run win4lin
etc on the other machine) - well it`s got a linux system on it but it`s
not too well optimised -
in particular 1) the vga chip, a Miro 12PD, never had an X-driver
produced for it...
and 2) it`s got no internet connection
( it`s really my lad`s machine (he`s not ready to be weaned off M$ or on
to www yet :-), but it`s in a sunnier part of the house!)
we digress - back to the non-availability of win4lin3...
