I have been using win4lin 2.0 for months in a RedHat-6.2 box, and
win4lin works well. I changed to Debian Potato for my linux
installation recently. I did a fresh installation for debian and
win4lin. The win4lin installation was done by using alien which
converted the rpm file into a deb file. After install (dpkg -i) the
deb file, I run the post-install shell file
/opt/win4lin/postinst_rpm.sh. Everything went well, and I can run MS
office in win4lin. However, I can not access either floppy and cdrom
devices in win4lin. When I double-click the drive in 'My Computer,
error dialog box with 'Device not ready' popped up. Also, the sound is
not working although it works in the linux side.

I must have missed something in the installation. Any ideas?

Thanks!

PS. Although the cdrom is not working in win4lin, I managed to install
MS office 2000. I first mount the cdrom at linux, then attached the
cdrom as a linux file system in winsetup, and win4lin recognize this
as a local drive D:, and I installed MS office from this drive.
