I've had a discussion with one of the support people regarding that.
from what I was told, officially no, and that was a decision that came
from higher up in managment, why I don't know, maybe some of the
Netraverse people can clarify.
However, if you load it on one machine using the installer, on that
machine, a directory is created /var/win4lin/installer_tmp/ which is
where the RPMs are placed, and can be copied to another machine for
installation.
perhaps if enough people mail Netraverse regarding this issue, they will
realise that it is better for both them and us, to have the RPM's
downloadable manually as well. Perhaps they could post them on the
Member area.
Sure, the installer is a great idea for those who A) are installing on a
machine with a fast connection, B) are not familiar with rpm, or B) just
want a point and click installation.
But there are those of us that A) are installing on machines with a slow
internet connection and want to download on a seprate machine with a
faster connection B) are experienced in rpm or other package managers
and/or C) do not want a point and click install, but want more control
over the procedure.
(9Meg kernel Images - Mandrake 8.0, AND the 4 Meg application, take a
long time to download on a slow analog modem, and when you have multiple
licenses/machines to install/upgrade, you do not want to have to
download several times!)
