i have an ugly image of a pointy-haired boss here, and it giving
me a sinking feeling.

in my case, i want to install the eval on a *different* box -- a test
box which is not hooked to the net -- and it is a *royal* pain in the
ass for netraverse to take this draconian policy to getting an eval
version of the software.
it's more annoying since, when i did this with win4lin 2.0, the installer
was just plain broken and wouldn't install anyway -- one of the install
scripts got confused regarding locations of certain directories and
just crashed and burned.
a pointed piece of advice to netraverse: you've really been burning
off your store of good will lately. this is *not* helping things.
