Dan,
I brought up a standard RH7.1 installation this afternoon. The only two
problems I ran into were:

1) The System Wide Windows Installation failed the first time I tried it
saying that it could install the DOS7 files, or something like that. I
couldn't find anything in the email archives, although I'm sure I saw it
this week sometime. Anyway, I rebooted and it didn't happen again.
Installation went fine.

2) Once Windows was up and running in my personal account, I was immediately
able to browse my home network correctly. My Win4Lin machine became part of
my Windows network. I could see the machines from either direction. (Win4Lin
seeing my Windows machines, Windows seeing my Win4Lin machine) Then I closed
Network Neighborhood, reopened it, and tried to browse the Network. It
failed repeatedly. I then rebooted Windows under Win4Lin (I.e. - just did a
restart from Windows) and it worked again)

Other than that it has worked fine for the last hour. Now I'll start
installing apps and see how it goes.

Have fun,
Mark

Subject: [Win4Lin-users] where did the R3 patches go?

i decided to try RH7.1 (based on 2.4.2) instead of mdk8.0 (2.4.3),
but that requires a different patch. The PATCH directory on the
ftp site no longer has any 3.0 patches. did i miss something?
