The Win4Lin package was installed with RPM, so you need to
remove it via RPM. If you removed things by hand,
then RPM will get real confused and refuse to "remove" it.
It will really complain about the removal script
"/opt/win4lin/remove_rpm.sh" being missing. So just
make a dummy script with that name and make it executable,
and then run "rpm -e Win4Lin".
Note: You can't mess up Win4Lin permanently by having
a bad load of Windows, so there is no need to remove Win4Lin
if Windows does not load properly. You can unload the Windows files
without removing Win4Lin, and then you can re-load the
Windows files from a proper set. The command "unloadwindowscCD"
does the removal of the Windows installation files, letting
you do a fresh load of from the Windows CD.
As you found it is vitally important to have a matching
boot floppy for the version of Windows. This is not
a restriction of Win4Lin as such, it is what Microsoft has
implemented.
