I really messed up my install and I admit it is my fault. I tried to
install WindowsME. Then I tried to install Windows98SE with the WindowsME
Install floppy since I couldn't find my SE floppy. Then I found an SE
floppy but by then the installer was giving me all sorts of errors.

I then tried to uninstall the win4lin but the installer was too
confused and refused. Then I tried to uninstall by hand by deleting the
/var/win4lin and /opt/win4lin directories. I also deleted all win4lin
reference from /etc/rc.d and from the /etc/default.

Now the installer thinks that win4lin is installed and tries to go
straight to installing windows again right before it crashes. I have
looked everywhere for the thing that makes the installer assume that
win4lin is installed but can not find it.

How can I start with a clean slate now that I have the correct win98SE
floppy and CD? How can I manually uninstall so that the win4lin
installer actaully believes me?

Thanks in advance for any help.
