Hello Bob, We have a modified insmod and rmmod that install the modules - once in /sbin they should be renamed to insmod_ver and rmmod_ver and your original insmod/rmmod should still be there. The fix_X_config script is used to fix the backingstore problem in X somewhat automagically. From the error message, it looks like maybe you are installing from download, and the file wasn't acutally found on the server. I'm not sure why this might be, and I'll see it is looked into. Is this an online/download installation or did you install from CD?
