Hi All.
I am normally running the kernel 2.4.4 with win4lin3 and am having this
speed problem. Just out of interest, I have tried running win4lin3 on an
old kernel (2.2.18). It seems to be running more like I am used to. Is
it possible that it is a kernel problem or a win4lin/kernel combination.

Can someone else who is also seeing this problem please do some tests
with a 2.2.x kernel. Also, is the speed problem occurring with the 2.4.x
kernel even when win4lin is not compiled in (I have not had an
opportunity to try this yet)?

Also, I noticed something strange at one time. I opened a DOS shell and
ran the "mem /c" command. It failed P). I have tried this a few times.
Later, I ran "mem" (no /c parameter), and it output information
correctly, after which "mem /c" now worked. Could this be a symptom of
the problem?

I also note that the DOS shell is taking a long time to come up in the
configuration when I am having this speed problem. This is what I may
use as a simple test for it to be fixed.
/brian
