Eric, Actually, what our installer does is install a pre-compiled 'stock' RH 7.1 kernel that has been pached with our Win4Lin patches. It does not patch your specific kernel. Thus, if you had specified any special hardware during install (i.e. scsi, etc), it may or may not work correctly because this is a different kernel than your kernel was. I'm not sure why you're having problems with VMWare, unless it has to do with the problems we encountered with Red Hat 7.1 with kernel versioning. Because of kernel versioning, we had to include the kernel modules with our kernel. Chances are good that you're having a problem because our kernel is using those modules, and the VMWare module is not installed there. You could try reinstalling the VMWare module under the Win4Lin kernel, or try using your stock kernel source and patch it with our Win4Lin patch to build your own kernel. One of these might work better. :) Regards, Amanda Eric Wayte wrote: > > I'm not sure I understand your question. I am using the "stock" RH 7.1 > kernel 2.4.2-2 with VMWare.
