Actually, what our installer does is install a pre-compiled 'stock' RH
7.1
kernel that has been pached with our Win4Lin patches. It does not patch
your specific kernel. Thus, if you had specified any special hardware
during
install (i.e. scsi, etc), it may or may not work correctly because this
is
a different kernel than your kernel was. 

I'm not sure why you're having problems with VMWare, unless it has to do
with
the problems we encountered with Red Hat 7.1 with kernel versioning.
Because
of kernel versioning, we had to include the kernel modules with our
kernel.
Chances are good that you're having a problem because our kernel is
using
those modules, and the VMWare module is not installed there. You could
try
reinstalling the VMWare module under the Win4Lin kernel, or try using
your stock
kernel source and patch it with our Win4Lin patch to build your own
kernel.
One of these might work better. :)
