I recently installed Win4Lin 3.0 successfully on a Mandrake 8.0 machine. The installation went very well and it's working....for the most part. There are a couple of oddities I'm working on but for the most part, I'm pretty happy. However, I noticed something a bit odd. Where I work, we can map our Unix directories to a windows directory and access our unix accounts from an Explorer window. I have several linked directories in my Unix account which show up with a regular Windows Explorer window but they don't show up in the Win4Lin session. In other words, if I have a directory called 'News' and I make a symbolic link 'nnnn' to News, I can see that fine with a regular windows Explorer. If I: boot Win4lin (with Win98) logon to my NT domain (automatically maps my Unix machine as a windows drive) open the Unix drive and then look for 'nnnn', it's not there. Any ideas?
