the only apps installed are eudora, quicken2000 and gravity.

i appreciate the suggestions, i really do. i'm just not sure where we're going
with this. e.g. if i can't use any of these apps under win4lin 3, it's of
no use
to me. none of this happens in a native windows install, so there is clearly
something going on that needs to be addressed. i would be glad to do any
tracing/debugging that netraverse asked, but so far, there has been a
deafening silence :(
