nobody's come back on this - on my setup it's a real and welcome
improvement.
Please, please Netraverse - It would be nice if there were proper
ChangeLogs for each release - so we would know whether to hurry to
reinstall.

PS there was a rumour started on the list that in kernel 2.4.6 the vm
model would change again - according to a thread ('2.4.6') on slackware
development forum, these changes are running-repairs only
