Just to finish this off, I got things working by getting another
kernel from win4lin, a later version and without the SMP moniker.
I didn't change my lilo.conf to reflect the fact I only have a
single processor, so that may have been the problem, as suggested
by someone on a different mailinglist.
Win4lin 3.0 seems to be working well enough, but I am sure I will
have more questions (why no full screen, networking, etc.)!
BTW, does anyone know why windows wouldn't install properly on
this box (always seems to hang when initializing hardward, just
guessing) but it runs fine under linux and win4lin?
