> I have some software (LEdit Pro from Tanner Tools) that uses flexlm, but
Hi Mark,
To give more details about what I'm trying to do: in my attempt to
switch my dual boot system to a Linux only system, I'm trying to
use Xilinx Foundation under Win4Lin (I know that is is possible to
have a working system without using Win4Lin but it's not yet the
point).
In my actual configuration, the software is working with the demo
license that doesn't use Flexlm but fails to run with my full
license. By trying to figure out where was the problem, I tried
to use the lmutil tool and got an error message about winsock not
being available and then the tool was not able to get neither the
disc id nor the ethernet card HW address. Hence my previous
"general purpose" question (I may have other soft to run...).
Thanks for the answer.
Jean-Marie
P.S. In your case, since you have a dongle, you will have to play
with the parallel port (ECP mode may be needed).
