Oh my good man, don't throw your hopes away yet...

I've got a solution for both of your problems.

Number one: Like me, you can't get an IP from DHCP over a router.
Answer: Switch to winsock.
Number two: You only need it for Exchange connectivity, which can't be
done over just winsock. Wrong! Here's how you do it:

1. Edit your win4lin-windows registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-->Software-->Microsoft-->Exchange-->Exchange
Provider--> Rpc_Binding_Order. Get rid of everything else but
ncacn_ip_tcp. IE, tell Outlook to use only TCP/IP to connect.

2. Put your Exchanges IP address to your hosts file

Only glitch is that you'll have to give a password every time you
login... ;o)

There you go... Give this a try before you go for wmware...
