Hello Eric
No problem; it's not going to cause you to get thrown off the list. :)
I just think it's better that we apply the same policies in reverse as we do on
the Mac list.
I strongly urge caution based on what I have read regarding JFW. It will give
you problems with the video drivers etc. because VMWare tools uses an updated
set of drivers in v4 and JFW will, like Window-Eyes did to a lesser extent,
complain about them.
So I strongly urge you to remove JFW, do the upgrade with Narrator and then
re-install JFW. Not forgetting, of course, your activation.

Hi Nic, Lynne and list,
Sorry about causing clarification issues. I probably caused the
problem by asking too many questions in one e-mail. It was hard to divide as
the Windows questions and answers effect my Mac decisions.
The main thing I was looking for was Windows and JAWS information within VM
Fusion 4.1. It sounds like Nic has this working and I'd love to pick his
brains a bit about this.
Nic, can you tell me if you started fresh with VM 4.1 then created a new
machine by installing Windows and then Jaws and your other software. Or did
you successfully upgrade VM Fusion 3 and then upgrade a existing machine and
get it to work correctly with Jaws?
My efforts so far have been on a cloned version of my system on a external
drive. I cloned back to my earlier system with VM 3 because of the many
Windows and JAWS issues that came up.
My efforts to solve the problem were to erase authorization files and try again
in the updated VM machine. No luck by doing that. I also noticed that my
Microsoft word now wants to be reauthorized again after upgrading. Also some
printer issues I fixed in the earlier machine in word are now wrong again.
Partly why I don't want to start fresh all over again is that I don't think I
can run VM Fusion 3 with my working machine and VM Fusion 4 with my machine in
progress on the same system. I tried to do this with my limited knowledge and
it didn't work. I'm taking this question over to the other list.
Nic, just knowing you have VM 4.1 windows, in your case 8, and Jaws working
together helps keep me on track. I'd love more details as I asked above.
I have related VM Fusion 4 questions and will now go over to the other list to
see if there are answers there.
I really appreciate all this info!
warmly,
Eric Caron
