Firstly, there's a new version of Goldwave available since I last played with the software, released in late January. Regarding markers when recording? A very quick glance at the online manual would seem to suggest that this can't be done however! there's no reason at all why you can't use "Cue Points" instead, you can drop a "Cue Point" during any operation by using ctrl-shift-q I think it is.
