Okay, I've kept quiet on this so far but I feel the need to speak up now.

Chris is more or less right when he talks about Thunderbird no longer being 
developed, the actual word from the press release some time ago was that 
development had been "Suspended" but not because of the future of the product 
but because there were - in the opinion of the developers - nothing more 
meaningful that could be done to the eMail client so it ill remain available 
still and - as Chris says - updates - where and if appropriate - will be 
released at various intervals.

I'm sure an update to Thunderbird was released in recent times, I'm a regular 
user of the software and I recall an update downloading not so long ago.

As far as accessibility for Thunderbird goes? Well it works very nicely with 
NVDA, reasonably well with JAWS and - as one would expect these days <smile> - 
not too well with Window-Eyes.
