It works, but it doesn't catch missing symbols until it's too
late. Given that the interfaces are still evolving, and seeing the
number of bug reports caused by mismatched dlls, I don't think this is
a good idea. I prefer that we say that for the time being you have to
set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH correctly.
