I would like to thank John and Forrest for their comments. To them I add, Gasoline is a commodity, shifting where you buy your Gas changes nothing regarding the price.

Additionally, it should be noted that companies like Citgo or Conoco often import much of their oil from other countries like Venezuela or other less desirable countries. In the case of Venezuela, there has been a general strike in an attempt, right or wrong to oust their president. Presently their oil industry is only producing something like 25 - 30% of their OPEC quota which is the largest factor to the present "high" gas prices.

That said, I prefer to respect everyone's lungs; the atmosphere and the environment so I ride a bike everywhere. I in no way continue to support Middle East terrorism or an Iraqi dictator and it's a lot cheaper at six cents per mile; try that with an SUV or any new car for that matter.

How often do you say to yourself, "I didn't do it; so of course, it didn't get done?"

GASOLINE SOLUTION!
We CAN buy gasoline that's not from Middle East...........................

Response:

That you can livean oil dependent lifestyle that doesn't enrich oil producers wherever they may be strikes me as wishful thinking. On the other hand, since the Conoco gas station has the biggest American flag in town, filling up there is probably the patriotic thing to do. Buying from Kwik Trip (no flag), I suppose, is just lining the pockets of Osama Bin Dirt Bag.
