Spencer is right as far as he goes, but remember that it is a heck of a lot easier to use a gun to injure (or kill) someone in a heat of the moment incident than it is to use a tire iron or a baseball bat. And how many people carry tire irons or baseball bats with them as a routine matter?
I heartily agree with the writer of a letter-to-the editor in today's Daily News that we should all call our elected officials and urge the repeal of this horrible law.
And we should also keep in mind how those officials voted come the election in '04.
Does anyone know how Senator Kierlin voted?
