According to the Universal Living Wage Organization the 2002 Living Wage for a Single person living in an Efficiency Apartment in Winona, Minnesota and working 40 hours per week is $6.29 per hour.  Working for Wal-Mart as a full time 28 hour per week that would need to be $8.98 per hour.  Both hourly rates include medical.  Assuming a couple would require a one bedroom apartment with one spouse working the numbers are $8.17 and $11.68 for 28 hours.  Assuming a couple with 1-2 children living in a two bedroom apartment the Living Wage recommend by this non-profit group goes from $10.37 for 40 hours or $14.81 for 28 hours.  All numbers include medical.
