A real tragedy. I could
not tell from the article in the WDN whether the police car was actually
chasing at 80 mph, or whether the kids got spooked and took off at 80 mph
leaving the police behind. Any further details?
Of course, second-guessing
after the fact is easy, but also appropriate when our public servants are
involved. What would have happened if the police had not chased
them? What if they had caused some other accident or run someone else down
and the police had given up a mile back? Then we'd be scolding the police
too. A tough choice and a real tragedy any way you look at
it.
