For 16 years the Upper Mississippi Jazz Society has sponsored a FREE
dixieland jazz concert on the 2nd Saturday of July of every year. This year
we had the Barbary Coast Jazz Band, The Wonderful World Jazz Band, and
Winona's own Gate City Jazz Band. I can't believe that we've kept it a
secret all these years. We have held it at the Jaycee Pavillion for the
last 10 years. It is a covered pavillion with electric power available and
it is a pretty good rain site. The costs are all donated locally by
businesses and individuals.
