Bob,
Your piece does a wonderful job of expressing what I think many many
Minnesotans are feeling about the current budget crisis and what got us
into it. The Governor's justification of "gee, shucks, we can't spend money
we don't have" begs the question as to where it went. I think the only
thing missing to complete the picture is to mention which sector of the
population has been the primary beneficiary of the tax-cutting frenzy.
Three guesses and the first two don't count. Moderate income folks? Low
income folks? Keep guessing.
I hope you'll consider submitting your piece to the print media as a guest
editorial. I know you just had one in the WDN but I think this one is even
better. I'm sending it out as a forward to my fellow political email
junkies. Thanks!
