I'd pick Wal Mart first.  The Federal Govt last.

Subject: [Winona] Who can get it done!

When I pondered the thoughts of the last week and our recent discussions I thought the following might provide the basis for some heavy thought and discussion.

If we collectively decided that the health care dilemma in the U.S. needs to solved and fully operational “within five years” but we needed to select “one team that we felt would get it done”.

 The problem for the team is:

* To provide the lowest prices on prescription drugs and all medical services

* Highest level of availability for patients anywhere in the U.S.

* Access for all

* Catastrophic financial protection for all eliminating the need for insurance

* Innovation and research would continue to be second to none in the world

The Four Team Options-

Team 1 – The Federal Government

Team 2 – The AFL-CIO

Team 3 – Banks & Credit Unions

Team 4 – Wal-Mart

Pick a team and tell why you feel they would succeed over the other teams remembering that it must be accomplished in not more than five years and that all the political realities of today would apply in the process and the outcome.
