Yesterday's Winona Daily News proclaimed the wonderful news that Wal-Mart has agreed to paint their store green rather than blue for Winona. (Nothing was mentioned about what color of smock the Wal-Mart "greeter" will wear.)
Wow! What a great victory for the Winona Planning Commission, to get a big super corporation to change such an important thing as the color of their store is amazing!
Now if we can only persuade Wal-Mart to do business in a moral, ethical matter. To treat their employers as human beings rather than as so much inventory. And to pay the workers in foreign "sweatshops" more than a few dollars a day THAT would be worth of a front page story!
