I don't consider that a "great victory" since green paint probably costs the same as blue paint.
What I do consider important is the fact that this "big super corporation" listened, and did make changes.
Perhaps we were tossed a few crumbs to keep us quiet, but that is better than being kicked away from the table.
Concerning foreign workers, let's examine trade agreements.
In the meantime, each person can refuse to buy anything unless it has a "made in America" label.
Oops, that may upset the foreign trade applecart.

Subject: [Winona] Wal-Mart concessions?

Yesterday's Winona Daily News proclaimed the wonderful news that Wal-Mart has agreed to paint their store green rather than blue for Winona. (Nothing was mentioned about what color of smock the Wal-Mart "greeter" will wear.)
Wow! What a great victory for the Winona Planning Commission, to get a big super corporation to change such an important thing as the color of their store is amazing!
Now if we can only persuade Wal-Mart to do business in a moral, ethical matter. To treat their employers as human beings rather than as so much inventory. And to pay the workers in foreign "sweatshops" more than a few dollars a day THAT would be worth of a front page story!
